The other night at 747 I gave my last message of the year. I wanted to give student's an opportunity to make a decision if they felt ready. All year we have been giving students snapshots of the life of Jesus, attempting to paint a portrait of this person we are asking them to follow.
I illustrated my point by asking if they had ever been on vacation. Most had and surprisingly all had taken pictures on their various adventures. I asked if they prefered going on the vacation or looking at the pictures when they got home. Naturally most people would rather being sitting on a beautful beach in Hawaii rather than looking at a picture of it.
So here was my challenge: for 8 months we have looked at many pictures of Jesus. We have seen him heal people, walk on water, raise the dead, challenge the Pharisees, and give us a promise that will change our life forever.
Would you rather just look at the pictures? Or choose to live the story behind each shot?
